We are in this Together
“We live 200 miles away, and were given a two bedroom apartment, one block from the Cancer Center, and gas cards to help with travel if we went home… We have told people if they ever have to go through cancer care, the Bismarck Cancer Center is the environment and place to be.”
Travel and Lodging Assistance for Out-of-town Patients
The coming months leave many unanswered questions, but during this time of change and social distancing, it is our job to continue to be your Partner Against Cancer.
To protect our vulnerable patients, we encourage you to stay home as much as possible to slow the spread of COVID-19. The Bismarck Cancer Center is too implementing significant changes to protect those we serve. One of our biggest hurdles is that we closed our 15 patient apartments to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 through shared hallways, laundry facilities and entrances. In return we are making alternative arrangements for our out-of-town patients for travel and lodging assistance, which is coming at a higher price tag for our Foundation.
Are you looking for a way to help? If you have the means and desire, you can make a tax-deductible donation to help continue to provide numerous gas cards and lodging opportunities for our patients. Your donation will be used directly for patient housing and gas cards during what is not only a scary time for the world but especially for those facing cancer treatments.
