The Bismarck Cancer Center (BCC) allows patients in our area to receive state-of-the-art cancer treatment and caring support while staying close to home and loved ones. We have a highly-skilled and compassionate team of radiation therapists, medical physicists, nurses and dosimetrists working with your radiation oncologist to care for you during your treatment.
Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is comprised of three members from each hospital. The Board provides leadership and direction for the strategic planning efforts that support the Bismarck Cancer Center’s mission and vision.

Scott Boehm, Vice President of Human Resources - Sanford Health Bismarck

Scott is the executive vice president  of human resources – Sanford Health Bismarck. Mr. Boehm has been with legacy Medcenter One, now Sanford Health, since 1981. He has administrative and operational responsibility for a 145-physician multi-specialty clinic. In addition, he is responsible for all of Sanford Health’s Bismarck region human resource functions. Mr. Boehm also has operational responsibility for system wide engineering/maintenance, facility planning, bio-med, environmental services, employee health, and safety and security. He holds a master’s degree in health services administration from St. Joseph’s College, Maine; a master’s degree in social work from St. Louis University, Mo.; and a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Mary, Bismarck.

Mr. Boehm is a member of the American Hospital Association—Society of Hospital Engineers, American College of Healthcare Executives, American Hospital Association—Society for Human Resources, and National Management Association—Medcenter One Chapter. Mr. Boehm serves as president of the Board of Directors of Bismarck Cancer Center, a member of the Sanford Research and Ethics Committee, a member of the Sanford Mass Vaccination Planning Team, a member of the Sanford Patient Safety Committee, a board member of Bismarck Air Medical Corp., and a board member of Bismarck State College Foundation. Mr. Boehm served as a board member of Missouri Slope United Way until 2002, and a board member of St. Vincent’s Care Center until 2005.

Dewey Schlittenhard, Vice President Chief Operating Officer​ - CHI St. Alexius Health

DuWayne (Dewey) D. Schlittenhard, MBA, R.Ph is the vice president chief operating officer at CHI St. Alexius Health since 1999. He oversees the following departments: the Heart & Vascular Center, Respiratory Care, Radiology, the Heart & Lung Clinic, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Rehabilitation Services, Anesthesia and Intensivists. Dewey received his education at North Dakota State University, Fargo, North Dakota (BS) and Chadwick University, Birmingham, Alabama (MBA). Prior to his role at St. Alexius, Dewey was the Chief Operating Officer at PRACS Institute Ltd, Fargo (1996-1999), Director of Pharmacy at MeritCare Health System, Fargo (1986-1996), Assistant Director of Pharmacy at Dakota Hospital, Fargo (1980-1986), Owner Medicine Shoppe, Mankato, MN (1978-1980), and Chief of Pharmacy - Walgreens, Champaign, IL (1975-1978).

Chris Jones, Director - CHI St. Alexius Health

Chris is VP--strategy and business development for CHI’s Fargo Region (and is based in Bismarck at CHI St. Alexius Health). He is responsible for providing leadership for strategic planning and business development activities for 18 CHI organizations in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin. Prior to working with CHI in 2001, Chris held positions with VHA, Allina Health System and developed a national PPO network, wrote strategic research initiatives regarding consumerism in health care and health care technology innovations, and developed business intelligence initiatives. He is a Concordia graduate in Health Care Administration and Scandinavian Studies 1998, University of St. Thomas with a MBA in Finance 2006. In 2013, he was named a Rising Star, one of Becker's Hospital Review's 25 Healthcare Leaders Under 40.

On a personal note, Chris is married with 2 children. His daughter Anika, 11, will be in the sixth grade at Horizon and his son, Anders, 7, will be in the second grade at Highland Acres. His wife, Kara, is active in Down syndrome advocacy (Anders has Down syndrome). With little free time, he enjoys cycling, racing, riding, and says he can’t have too many bikes!

Kirk Cristy, Director - Sanford Health Bismarck

Kirk is the CFO of Sanford Health Bismarck. He has been with Sanford-Bismarck since 2013. Prior to coming to North Dakota, Kirk was the VP-Finance at St. Joseph Health System in Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting, from Angelo State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Texas Tech University.

Rosanne Schmidt, Director - CHI St. Alexius Health

Rosanne is the vice president/chief nursing officer for CHI St. Alexius Health.  She has been with CHI St. Alexius in various positions since 1977. In addition she is active in the community serving on many boards and involved in numerous organizations. She holds a MPA and Health Administration Certification from the University of North Dakota and a B.S. in Nursing from the University of Mary. She has also taken Nursing Home Administration Courses through the University of North Carolina.

Jan Kamphuis, Director - Sanford Health Bismarck

Jan is the executive vice president—hospital operations/chief nursing officer for Sanford-Bismarck. She has been with Sanford Health Bismarck (formerly Medcenter One) in various senior management positions since 1980 and is very active in nursing education. She holds a MSN degree from the University of Mary and a PhD from the University of North Dakota. She is very active in national, regional, and local nursing professional organizations as well as with a number of local, community organizations. She is a recipient of the March of Dimes’ Legacy in Nursing Award and the North Dakota Nursing Association’s Nurse Administrator of the Year Award.
