Equine Therapy

A blond woman is standing in front of a wooden horse stable. Two horses stick their heads out. The woman cautiously strokes the horse nostril.
Connection and comfort

Equine therapy has proven helpful for cancer patients because horses are naturally social animals that welcome a special bond with individuals. Once that connection is formed, it can provide great comfort to the cancer survivor, giving them a much-needed escape during or after the trauma of fighting cancer.

The Bismarck Cancer Center’s equine therapy program will be held at the TR 4 Heart and Soul Riding Arena located southeast of Bismarck. The equine therapy classes will be free to survivors and a guest. To register for a session, contact the Cancer Center at 701-222-6100 or TR4 Heart and Soul at 701-367-6136 or email: katie.oakland@live.com.

(*Participants must be at least 4 years old of age and under 210 lbs. Helmets are provided and required.)

TR 4 Heart and Soul, 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, seeks to improve the quality of life, both physically and emotionally of adults and children with disabilities, learning, speech, and behavioral challenges through the heart and soul of a horse utilizing therapeutic riding.
