There are times when patients and cancer survivors have a difficult time expressing themselves. Other times, they just need a creative outlet. The Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation offers healing art workshops to help with the healing process and provide a source of creative, therapeutic self-expression.
You don’t have to be an artist or even like art to benefit. The only requirement is an open mind and the ability to hold a pencil or paintbrush.
Held the first Tuesday of every month from 6-8 p.m., classes are open to all cancer survivors, patients, families and caregivers. They are facilitated through “Art from the Heart” located at 311 N Mandan Street, Suite 4 in Bismarck, ND. Healing Through Art is available thanks to a grant from the Dakota West Arts Council (DWAC). DWAC helps provide excellent, inspiring, creative and educational programming and projects for the community.
