John M. Watkins, MD - Radiation OncologistDr. Watkins joined the Bismarck Cancer Center in March 2010. He is Board-eligible in Radiation Oncology. As a Radiation Oncologist, Dr Watkins specializes in the treatment of patients with cancer.
Dr Watkins earned his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine, and then fulfilled an internship at Clarian Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He completed a residency in Radiation Oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, and has subsequently practiced in South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Indiana and North Dakota.
Dr Watkins is an active member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology, the American Society for Clinical Oncology and the American Medical Association. He has faculty appointments as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr Watkins has special interests in breast cancer, lung cancer and head/neck cancers and has bulished and presented independent research on these topics. Dr. Watkins accepts all cases including: gynecology, pediatric, breast, prostate, lung, gastric, bladder, bone, pancreatic, colorectal, head/neck and brain tumors, lymphoma, sarcoma and metastatic disease.
